ShipTime's multicarrier platform makes shipping easy
Each year in North America, the e-commerce sector transports millions of goods to destinations around the world via a variety of transportation and courier services. ShipTime, an express discount, all-in-one shipping service, has emerged as an industry leader, Michael Nowak, ShipTime’s channel manager for Costco, tells the Connection.
“ShipTime is a multi-carrier platform for small-package delivery and less-than-trailer-load freight that provides access to some of the best carriers in Canada at significant value,” explains Nowak.
Whether a customer is a chocolatier sending a box of chocolate truffles across the country, or an entrepreneur sending an entire pallet of roof racks a few provinces away, ShipTime is easy to access and easy to navigate. Users simply create and log on to their ShipTime account, compare shipping rates from among multiple competing carriers, select their carrier of choice and identify a pickup place and time.
The ShipTime system then moves them through the next steps of the process, offering customers options for printing their own labels, generating customs documentation, batching and branding their orders and tracking their packages—all at savings that are up to 65% off the carriers’ posted rates.
“We pool our volume with carriers and act as their small-shipper sales force,” Nowak says. That, he says, makes it possible for ShipTime to secure excellent pricing for its customers without asking for any volume commitment.
ShipTime’s great rates, combined with the company’s dedication to customer service, make for a smooth shipping process for customers— including the numerous Canadian Costco members who have used the service to date. That intuitive and low-stress process is why so many business owners who were forced to pivot to e-commerce during the pandemic chose ShipTime—and have remained with the company—for their shipping needs.
The pandemic affected the world of e-commerce in an incredible way, Nowak says, and ShipTime grew substantially because of that impact. Even now, as the pandemic has appeared to slow, ShipTime’s popularity continues to increase. It turns out that in good times as well as challenging times, customers appreciate efficiency, ease of use and saving time and money.
