School daze
August is the time to dust off the backpacks, fill them up and plan for a new school year. Preparing children for the new year includes everything from supplies, clothes and checkups to planning schedules and making new friends. Teachers prepare by developing lesson plans and readying their classrooms for the new, smiling faces.
BACK-TO-SCHOOL MONTH has been observed for several decades. The school year originally began in the fall and ended in late spring to allow the children of farmers in what was then an agricultural society to help with planting and harvesting.
Though today most families have an urban or suburban lifestyle, most schools in Canada still function on this system. And, the topic of year-round school is occasionally debated.
However it plays out, Costco is there to help!

HELPFUL HACK
Highlight of your day
If you’re looking for a way to remove highlighter marks from a book, look no further than a lemon and some cotton balls. Just slice a lemon in two and get some juice on a ball, then run the cotton ball over the text and watch the colour disappear. According to familyhandyman.com, the juice fades the marks enough to make them all but undetectable.
