Interactive board books help facilitate a love of learning

August is when many students start thinking about heading back into the classroom. For some, it will be their first formal educational experience. To help your little scholars—ages 3 and up—on their road to learning, Search Find Write Wipe: ABC and Search Find Write Wipe: 123 are available in Costco warehouses.

The Connection recently asked Ashley Matthews, editorial project manager at Kidsbooks Publishing, about these items.

Costco Connection: What are the guiding educational principles behind the content in these books?
Ashley Matthews: The books take early educational concepts and put them together with super fun illustrations and engaging activities so that learning becomes less of a chore and more of an adventure. If children enjoy what they’re doing, it doesn’t seem like work.

CC: What is the benefit of having the wipe-off pages?
AM: Wipe-off pages let children use the book over and over again, which makes for great practice—repeating fun learning exercises until they know them well. They can be shared with younger siblings at home and/or classmates at school.

CC: Can you tell me a little about the team that put these titles together?
AM: These books were made by a small team of editors, designers and one of our favourite go-to illustrators who are all passionate about children’s books and making them fun and interactive. We believe when you enjoy what you do, it’s easier to create great products. And we love making children’s books.

CC: What else would you like readers to know about the Search & Find Write & Wipe books?
