Costco Life

Food triangle
October is Pizza Month, and your local Costco warehouse has piping hot pizza—featuring pizza dough that is always made fresh from scratch. To help you celebrate, go to your local Costco Food Court and order by the slice or get an entire 46-centimetre (18-inch) pie. Or choose from a variety of frozen pizzas, including the Kirkland Signature™ Deluxe Cauliflower Crust (Item 1630281).
Back story
RESIDENTS OF ANCIENT Egypt, Rome and Greece enjoyed flatbread with toppings, according to History.com. But Naples, Italy, was the birthplace of the modern pizza in the late 18th or early 19th century.
Italian immigrants who came to the United States in the early 20th century introduced pizza. Canada’s first pizzeria opened in Montreal in 1948, and Greek-born Canadian Sam Panopoulos put his own spin on the circle by inventing the Hawaiian variety in 1962. Today, you can enjoy pizza almost anywhere, including at Costco.

SAFE TRICK-OR-TREATING
Spook-tacular safety
- Cross the street at corners, using traffic signals and crosswalks.
- Put electronic devices down and keep heads up and walk, don’t run, across the street.
- Never dart out into the street or cross between parked cars.
- Decorate costumes and bags with reflective tape or stickers.
- Choose face paint and makeup whenever possible instead of masks, which can obstruct a child’s vision.
- Have kids carry glow sticks or flashlights to help them see and be seen by drivers.
- When selecting a costume, make sure it is the right size to prevent trips and falls.
