From May 1 to June 4, Costco members will be asked to support the needs of children’s hospitals across Canada by donating when they check out. Spotlight on sunscreen
The Canadian Cancer Society (cancer.ca) offers the following tips to better understand sunscreen labels:
- Look for “broad spectrum” and “water-resistant” on the label.
- Use sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher, and reapply often.
- Check the expiry date.
- Physical sunscreens can be mineral-based and sit atop the skin, while chemical sunscreen is absorbed.
- Put sunscreen on first, before any makeup or insect repellent.
- Use sunscreen during every season, even when it’s cloudy or cold.
