Black Cod flesh is white, buttery soft, and very mild in flavor. It's creamy texture makes it amenable to quick high temperature cooking like grilling and broiling. Cooked by dry heat, the flesh does not flake, but is soft and pulls apart very easily. Steamed or poached, it does separate into thin flakes. Black Cod has an incomparable mouth-feel and extraordinary rich flavor. These characteristics make it a versatile fish that lends itself to a variety of cooking methods and flavor treatments. Also known as Sablefish, the soft, tender meat melts in your mouth.

Cooking Instructions:

Internal temp for all seafood should reach 145 F. Should flake easily and not be translucent on the inside.
Cook from thawed works best when you want to marinate the fish

Baked:
- 400 F for 15-20 minutes\
- Oven temperatures vary, cook to the minimum time mentioned then adjust accordingly.
Pan Sear:
- Skin side down medium heat for 4-5 minutes
- Flip once cooked for another 3-4 minutes
BBQ:
- Medium heat 10-12 minutes
- No need to flip
- For grill marks then do 6-7 minutes skin side down 3-4 minutes flesh side down

Handling:
Within the box you may find dry ice. DRY ICE MAY EVAPORATE BEFORE RECEIPT OF THE PACKAGE. Always handle dry ice with care and use a protective cloth or leather gloves whenever touching it. An oven mitt or towel will work. If touched briefly it is harmless, but prolonged contact with the skin will cause injury similar to a burn. KEEP AWAY FROM CHILDREN.
